Directions to Mermaid's Tale

Coming from THE EAST (Orlando, Gainesville, Jacksonville)

  • If you’re traveling west on I-10:
    • Take Exit 203 off I-10 and go South on capital Circle/US HWY 319 around Tallahassee.
    • At Capital Circle and Rt. 319, you will see a shopping center on your left. The Publix is a good place to buy your supplies for the week.
    • Then, follow HWY 319 South when it joins Crawfordville Highway #61. Stay on HWY 319.
    • At Medart, HWY 319 joins US 98. After about 1 ½ miles, 319 goes right. Stay on US 98 through the town of Panacea, across the Ochlocknee Bay Bridge.
    • Once over the bridge, go 1 and 1/4 miles to HWY 370. (There is a sign for Alligator Point.) Turn left.
    • Go 4 miles and turn left onto Bald Point Road. (Watch for a brown Bald Point State Park sign).
    • Go 2 miles. Turn right on Trout Street (you pass Bass St. and Kingfish Street and Grouper Street) and STOP AT THE WATER! Mermaid’s Tale is on the right.
       
  • If you’re traveling west on HIGHWAY 98:
    • Stay on US 98 through the town of Panacea and across the Ochlocknee Bay Bridge.
    • 1-1/4 miles past the bridge is HWY 370 (look for Alligator Point sign). Turn left.
    • Go 4 miles on HWY 370, turn left on Bald Point Road (look for the brown Bald Point State Park sign).
    • Go 2 miles and turn right onto Trout St. (You will pass Bass St., Kingfish St., Grouper St.) STOP AT THE WATER!
    • Mermaid’s Tale is on the right.

For groceries, go back on Rt. 98 and turn left on Rt. 319. You will find a Winn-Dixie Grocery store in Crawfordville. View Area Map.

Coming from THE WEST (Pensacola, Montgomery, Baton Rouge, etc.)
  • If you’re traveling east on I-10:
    • Take Exit 196 off I-10; turn right.
    • Go South on Capital Circle/Highway 263. Follow directions to the airport but continue on 263 to US HWY 319. Turn right.
    • Immediately, look for a shopping area on the left. The Publix grocery store would be a good place to get your supplies for the week.
    • Done with shopping?  Get back onto HWY 319 and go south (left turn from Publix).
    • At Medart, HWY 319 joins US 98.
    • After about 1 and 1/2 miles, Rt. 319 bears right. You should stay on US 98 through the town of Panacea and across the Ocklocknee Bay Bridge.
    • About 1 and 1/4 miles past the bridge is HWY 370. (Look for signs for Alligator Point.) Turn left.
    • Go 4 miles and turn left at Bald Point Road (look for the brown Bald Point State Park sign).
    • Go 2 miles and turn right onto Trout St. (You will pass Bass St., Grouper St., Kingfish St.) STOP AT THE WATER!
    • Mermaid’s Tale is on your right.
       
  • If you’re traveling east on Highway 98:
    • Turn right on HWY 370 of Highway 98.
    • Go 4 miles on HWY 370, turn left at Bald Point Road (look for the brown Bald Point State Park sign).
    • Go 2 miles. Turn right onto Trout St. (You will pass Bass St,. Grouper St,, Kingfish St.). STOP AT THE WATER! 
    • Mermaid’s Tale is on the right.

For supplies, you may want to go back to HWY 98, head east, and at RT. 319, go left. There is a Winn-Dixie Supermarket in Crawfordville. View Area Map

Coming out of the Tallahassee AIRPORT:

  • As you take the road to exit, turn right onto Route 263.
  • At the light for Rt. 319, turn right. The Publix Grocery store is on your left and would be a good place to pick up your supplies for the week.
  • Then go back to Rt. 319 (left coming out of the Publix).
  • At Medart, Rt. 319 joins US 98. After about 1 and 1/2 miles, Rt. 319 bears off to the right but you need to stay on US 98 through the town of Panacea. Go over the Ocklocknee Bridge.
  • About 1 and 1/4 miles after the bridge, turn left on HWY 370 (look for Alligator Point sign).
  • Go 4 miles and turn left onto Bald Point Road. (Look for brown Bald Point State Park sign.)
