This 392-acre park offers campgrounds, picnic areas, fishing and a boat ramp. Nature trails are located along the river and throughout the pine forest. Nestled in scenic pine flatwoods, it is an excellent area for nature studies. Wildlife such as deer, fox squirrel, bobcat, gray fox and numerous species of birds are commonly observed. Of special interest is the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker that makes its home in the cavities of mature pine trees. Wildlife habitats include pine flatwoods, oak thickets, rivers, and marsh.
